BEDHD supports and encourages healthy beginnings for children. Breastfeeding is one way to give infants a healthy start. Breastfeeding is encouraged because breast milk has many benefits for babies, and breastfeeding has health benefits for mothers as well.

For Moms
Baby Café is a drop-in Breastfeeding Club—an informal, comfortable place to meet other breastfeeding moms. International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) and Certified Lactation Counselors (CLC) attend each meeting to provide expert advice and support as needed.

Capital Area Breastfeeding Coalition
This site has a large resource guide for help in the area and includes lactation consultants and counselors, online Facebook groups for instant advice, breast pump rentals and sales, and local support groups.
