The Barry-Eaton District Health Department (BEDHD) offers a Certified Food Safety Manager Class that meets the Michigan Food Law requirements of having a certified manager at the food service establishment.
Registration: Due to a limited amount of class space, all class participants must pre-register and pay. There is an option of purchasing a Professional Food Manager class book at time of registration for an additional fee. To register for a class either drop off, mail-in, or fax the registration form found here to the Charlotte or Hastings office. Payment must be received at time of registration. Please call one of our locations if you wish to pay with a credit card.

Class Dates/Time/Location: Classes consist of two half days of instruction (approx. 8 am - 12 noon). At the end of the second half-day of class, a certification exam will be administered. A government issued photo I.D. is required for taking the exam.

Looking to renew your certification without having to take a class? There is an option of taking the class exam only. The cost of the exam is $80, and will be administered at 11:30 am on the second halfday of each scheduled class, please arrive 15 min early. Late arrivals will be unable to take the exam. Space fills up quickly so early registration is recommended. Upon request, exams can be made available in both Spanish and Chinese (Traditional and Mandarin).
